Rip-snortin’ Kirk Douglas has this THING about barbed wire, I tell ya … and he’s willing to shoot it out with anyone who’s on the side of the nasty stuff. But there’s plenty of violence to be dished out in King Vidor’s excellent, colorful western adventure, with an exemplary cast: Jeanne Crain, Claire Trevor, Richard Boone, William Campbell, and even (sigh) Mara Corday.
